QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Must be able to efficiently and politely handle incoming calls
  • Must be computer literate in MS Office products
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Must have the ability to work with the public and be a representative of The Salvation Army\xe2\x80\x99s image to the community
  • Ability to work with diverse populations with poise and professionalism
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
JOB DUTIES:
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department/employee
  • Take messages for employees at the Herberger Campus and relay them via telephone or e-mail to the appropriate department in a timely fashion
  • Receive deliveries and notify recipients of pick-up hours
  • Courteously greet and direct visitors to the appropriate department or scheduled meeting room(s)
  • Ensure that all guests are signed in, sign out, and are announced to the department before they are given access to visit
  • Notify supervisor of any guests that remain in the building to maintain facility and staff safety
  • Issue, track, and manage temporary badges for visitors and vendors
  • Responsible for assuring that the phone system is placed in night mode when the front desk is unattended
  • Prepare and place signage on doors when the building is closed at unscheduled times
  • Process all UPS/FedEx incoming and outgoing packages, including paging the driver when urgent overnight deliveries need to be picked up
  • Process return to sender mail
  • Monitor security cameras and security door/gate access for DHQ building 1 and report issues to supervisor
  • Manage access to maintenance vendors and open gates remotely as directed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned, as they relate to the position of receptionist

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
