If you join our team, you will work in an exciting and fast-paced environment to deliver hardware products including basic home improvement supplies, paints, ice melt, etc. to the customer\'s home or office. The Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving both stock and special-order materials from any vendor, verifying the materials received, matching the packing list, and putting the materials away in the designated bin location. Any discrepancies found while verifying the materials received must be documented and notify the Purchasing team.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform work processes to ensure the accuracy of receiving materials into NHHC
  • Read and understand packing list details and verify materials received match the packing list
  • Lookup PO details to resolve any possible questions without management support
  • Update any discrepancies in the system and report material damage to Management.
  • Organize and palletized special order materials to be ready to put away
  • Focus on maximizing floor storage by organizing materials. Update bin locations as needed.
  • Attach appropriate special-order labels to materials and put them away in the designated bin location
  • Support inventory efforts or other assigned warehouse tasks as requested by the manager
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with the company staff, with special emphasis on the customer (internal and external), teamwork, efficiency, and profitability
  • Maintain a culture of safety and accountability to ensure all associates operate in a safe manner in all tasks performed.
  • General cleaning as needed in the work area
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • General knowledge of all products sold by NHHC
  • Ability to read packing list details and verify matching product
  • Ability to use all material handling equipment
  • Able to read a tape measure
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail skill set
  • Able to operate RF devices and Ability to prioritize daily demands to meet customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of safety/OSHA and other related compliance regulations
  • Respectful and team-minded approach to work
  • Self-directed and motivated with a commitment to self-development and development of team
Education and Experience
  • 2+ years working in a warehouse and/or retail environment
  • Knowledge of products sold within a hardware store
  • Knowledge of inventory management and receiving practices
Physical Requirements
  • Person must have a valid driver\'s license for driving a forklift and maneuvering the delivery truck as needed
  • Able to walk, bend, stand on even and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to lift and/or pull 50+ lbs. independently and other weights with assistance.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Able to perform various job functions including picking, packing, receiving, truck loading
  • Able to climb (ladders, trucks, stairs)
