R&D Technician

We are looking for passionate and talented individual to join our team as a R&D Technician for first shift (8:00am-5:00pm) at our Lakewood, NJ location.

Position Summary:

The R&D Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory-based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing results to assist with product and process development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologies by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

R&D technicians also monitor and record manufacturing process conditions for reporting on experimental and standard production runs.

Essential duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Perform laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support material/product investigations;

Monitors and records manufacturing process conditions for reporting on experimental and standard production runs.

Conducts annual customer specific (OEM) and/or industry standard (ASTM, military, ISO, etc.) spec testing, include scheduling, sampling, testing, recording, and managing outside lab testing;

Assist in the reporting on experimental and standard production runs;

Prepares samples to perform tests using lab equipment such as Shear Tester, Rheometer and FTIR.;

Performs job responsibilities in compliance with IATF16949; AS9001 and ISO14001;

Uses standard computer software to generate reports and graphs;

Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment, as well as identify and label samples and materials; follow proper storage procedures;

Follow and practice all safety policies and procedures; follow 5S housekeeping rules;

Other duties as assigned by Nitto's management team.

Education and Experience:

HS degree or GED required; College technical degree (two-year college or technical school), college course work or bachelor's degree in a science discipline preferred.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of lab equipment such as Shear tester, FTIR, Rheometer a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities

Possess effective communication skills (written and verbal), technical communication preferred.

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels.

Ability to read, understand and interpret written information.

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts

Identify problems in a timely manner.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Detail oriented, accurate, well organized, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Exhibit self-discipline and motivation.

Computer literate, required

Microsoft Office 365 experience, required

ERP System experience, required

Salary Range:

$50,000-$52,000 annually
