Radiologic Technology Instructor
to help shape the next generation of imaging professionals. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to engage students across theory, laboratory, and clinical settings, fostering both technical excellence and compassionate patient care. The Radiologic Technology Instructor will demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender and ethnic backgrounds of faculty, staff, and students.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Facilitate student learning by designing varied and exciting learning environments. Evening and/or weekend classes may be scheduled based on department needs. Duties for the position include regular weekly teaching loads, but are not limited according to the following:
Teach courses over an academic year in accordance with established course outline;
Provide resource and coaching to students as needed;
Participate in the development and the assessment of student learning outcomes (SLO's) and Guided Pathways endeavors to support student success;
Maintain scheduled office hours for student contact;
Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge in the academic and clinical practice field;
Develop and update department course curricula and course syllabi;
Develop resources, materials, and strategies, including using multimedia technology platforms, including augmented, virtual, and mixed reality experiences to instruct students in a multicultural environment;
Collaborate with other instructors to continuously improve on department development, peer learning, creative team teaching, and build an effective and strong program that supports student learning
Active involvement in campus responsibilities (faculty curriculum/department meetings for accreditation, student enrollment, and recruitment activities, etc.).
Teach theory, laboratory, and/or clinical components of different radiologic technology courses through creative instructional design methods, student involvement in active learning processes, and remedial learning opportunities utilizing distance education (synchronous and/or asynchronous learning) as well as in-person teaching assignments.
Use of Canvas learning management system (LMS) for distance education;
Oversee student learning at multiple locations
Assist in developing new courses and curricula as needed; provide creative learning scenarios and activities for optimal student participation and development of critical thinking (case studies, interactive and peer learning opportunities, mock exams, and lab practicums, etc.).
Actively participate in departmental duties as appropriate for instructor assignment and assigned by the chairperson and/or director (e.g., curriculum development, faculty professional growth opportunities, meetings with professional organizations, etc.)
Participate in program review and accreditation processes, plan and attend advisory committee meetings, revise course outlines, assist with student advisement and participate actively on campus committees); and
Develop supplementary materials and incorporate best practices of instructional design and innovative technology to complement textbooks, other published materials, and lecture presentations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Work Experience
2+ years working experience as Licensed Radiologic Technologist
Required Skills
Bachelorette degree in Radiologic Technology, Health Science or Health Care Administration.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
Preferred Skills
Possess an excellent academic record and have experience teaching radiologic technology at the college level, including in a clinical environment.
Exhibit knowledge of current radiologic technology theory, lab components, and clinical practice in the subject matter to be taught (e.g., medical terminology, radiographic math and physics, patient healthcare issues, patient communication and interactions, fluoroscopy, image production, proper radiographic and anatomical positioning, quality management).
Experience with radiology information systems (RIS) (e.g., Epic, PACS) and health informatics with knowledge and compliance of standards of confidentiality (HIPAA).
Experience in utilizing Canvas LMS, CLOVER Learning, and Microsoft Office applications to develop and deliver interactive radiology coursework, streamline clinical documentation, and support student success through technology-enhanced instruction.
Possess the ability to assume responsibility and accountability for instruction, evaluation of students, and planning and implementing curriculum content in the subject area.
Advanced certifications are desirable (e.g., CT, MRI, U/S, mammography, radiation therapy, DEXA, interventional radiology, nuclear med, etc.)
Demonstrate a commitment to student learning and success.
Demonstrate the development, understanding, and experience teaching and assessing student learning outcomes (PLOs, CSLOs, and SLOs)
Ability to work effectively with computers, augmented and virtual reality, and other forms of innovative technology in the instruction of Radiography courses.
Possess a commitment to collegiality within the instructional environment by interacting effectively with colleagues and maintaining active participation in departmental meetings and committees.
Able to establish positive relationships and maintain collegiality with college personnel, department faculty, and staff, and clinical and/or community partnerships.
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, and ethnic backgrounds of college faculty, staff, and students.
