Radiation Therapist Lead ARRMC (Radiation Oncology)

Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.000000 | Full Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM

Position Summary

The Radiation Therapist Lead provides leadership, training, and guidance to lower-level staff, supports the supervisor, and performs complex and specialized radiation oncology work. Operates various treatment machines in the department, utilizing them to treat patients in a consistent and caring manner following the Radiation Oncologist\'s prescription and the treatment plan as set up in simulation and dosimetry. Assists the supervisor in identifying problems, recommending solutions, and assisting in the improvement of technical and patient service programs. The Radiation Therapist Lead has significant responsibility for the efficient operation of the treatment delivery work area, communicating and coordinating daily operations with medical staff and residents, nurses, physics and dosimetry, and ancillary services.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist providing thorough knowledge of theory, practices, procedures, and equipment used in the field of radiation oncology.
  • Licensed in Radiation Therapy by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) with certification in Radiation Therapy ARRT (T) required upon start.
  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.
