Position Overview
This is a dynamic role for a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) to develop and
oversee a food safety system (SQF Level 2 or higher) and manage relations with co-packing
clients in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the CEO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement any new policies, procedures, and documents to follow Safe
Quality Food (SQF) established standards and guidelines and ensure compliance with
federal and global food safety regulations for beverages and dietary supplements.
+ Food safety and sanitation programs include, but are not limited to: GMP's,
SSOP's, MSS, Pre-Op Inspections, ATP Verification, HACCP Program, Allergen
program, Pest Control program, SQF Systems Maintain compliance of USDA/NOFA Organic, Kosher, SQF Level 2.
Conduct required food safety training for employees and ensure training is adequate and
documented. Plan and execute all internal facility food safety audits to identify opportunities to drive
continuous improvement and permanent solutions. Investigate and manage corrective actions to customer complaints and supplier issues.
Conduct all third-party audits: Plan, schedule and coordinate customer, regulatory and
third-party audits. Ensure the appropriate tracking and documentation are completed
promptly. Oversee all aspects of the Microbiological Sampling Program, including establishing and
updating analytical testing procedures and performing routine testing and verifications. Conduct traceability exercises and Mock Recalls.
Audit new and existing products and their ingredients against established standards and
procedures. Update nutritional facts and artwork as needed. Mentor and develop quality assistants and sanitation specialist.
Oversee pest management company.
Collaborate with R&D on ad-hoc projects.
Customer Account Management
Manage client relationships, including communication of production schedules,
inventory, and yields. Coordinate with production, quality, and operations teams to ensure accurate product
specifications, available ingredients and packaging, and all completed documentation. Maintain accurate and current information within Aqua ViTea's MRP system.

Skills and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree.
Experience in Food Safety: developing and implementing programs.
Willingness to manage and train a small team.
Proactive problem-solver with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
Working Condition Requirements
Must be able to sit or stand and work at a computer for most of the day. Must be able to travel
by car, train or plane if necessary.
