Quality Director





Purpose: We are seeking a Quality Director to become an integral part of our growing team! As the Quality Director, you will lead the quality department at VBC, ensuring the timely, consistent delivery of safe, compliant, and high-performing products that meet or exceed customer expectations. This role is a key member of the Company's leadership team, and supports a collaborative environment driving excellence in product quality, regulatory compliance, process efficiency and customer satisfaction through data-driven systems and continuous improvement. The Director is responsible for overseeing all quality control testing and systems related to new product development (NPD), production and inventories, while maintaining the integrity of product and quality data across the enterprise.




Primary Responsibilities:



Leadership & Department Operations



Manage, train, and lead the Quality Control department to support timely, consistent, and compliant product manufacturing and release. Develop and mentor staff to enhance technical competence, analytical skills, and leadership capability. Oversee the development and validation of QC test methods and specifications for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. Partner with R&D and Operations to design QC protocols that support manufacturing scalability. Support process validation, change control, and risk assessments across departments. Support New Product Development (NPD) including review of primary and secondary packaging and label compliance. Actively participate in New Product Committee (NPC) meetings, operational reviews, and strategic planning sessions. Promote a positive, collaborative, and safety-oriented work environment aligned with VBC's values. Other duties as deemed necessary by management

Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance



Lead implementation and maintenance of QC systems aligned with GLP, cGMP, ISO, and MOCRA standards. Work with third-party professionals to ensure compliance with all standards. Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS), including document control, deviation/non conformance management, CAPA tracking, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

QMS/ERP & Data Integration



Serve as the Quality main contact for ERP system integration and utilization, ensuring alignment between Quality Control, Production, and Supply Chain modules. Oversee electronic quality workflows (e.g., material disposition, batch release, nonconformance tracking) within the QMS & ERP environment. Collaborate with IT and Operations to ensure accurate data capture, real-time traceability, and visibility of quality metrics throughout the product lifecycle. Utilize ERP reporting tools for trend analysis, KPI monitoring, and management review presentations. Oversee cross-functional initiatives to digitize QC forms, travelers, and batch records to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Strategic & Continuous Improvement



Contribute to company-wide continuous improvement initiatives in quality, safety, and operational performance. Develop departmental budgets, resource plans, and performance objectives. Foster a culture of proactive problem-solving, thoughtful risk assessment and timely responsiveness within the QC organization.

Minimum Requirements:



7+ years experience of supervising/managing a team within Quality Control or Quality Assurance in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, or related regulated manufacturing environments

o Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related technical field REQUIRED

Hands-on knowledge of GLP, cGMP, MOCRA, and ISO-based quality standards REQUIRED Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) Experience integrating quality processes within ERP modules (inventory, production, supplier quality, material disposition, etc.) Hands-on experience implementing electronic quality records and traceability systems
Experience with QMS software (e.g., UniPoint, MasterControl, ETQ, or similar)
