The

Quality Control Review Specialist

will support and/or assist the quality control review team with performing a quality control review of commercial and small business loans within 30-60 days of loan origination. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reviewing and analyzing commercial and small business loan files for any missing or inaccurate loan documentation, credit or collateral exceptions, and/or loan policy exceptions that may have been overlooked during the underwriting process, and assisting with managing the Commercial and Small Business Lending quality control review reporting. This role is remote within the Hope Enterprise market footprint in

Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi or Tennessee

Responsibilities



Perform detailed quality control review of post-closing commercial loans values of $250,000 and above, including a review of a statistical sample of small business loans Complete quality control review process within 30-60 days of loan closing date Perform daily review and evaluation of the credit/loan file submitted by underwriting team for any loan policy exceptions with mitigating factors and report any non-compliant loans to the QC Review Lead or QC Review Officer May assist with completing the Commercial Loan Policy Exception Report in excel format and calculating the percentage of loan policy exceptions identified on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This includes, but is not limited to, calculating the percentages in comparison to the total loan portfolio, total loans reviewed, Net Worth, and Total Assets. May assist with monitoring and tracking the level of commercial loan policy exceptions throughout the commercial loan life cycle Provide ongoing monitoring and tracking of the quality control review documentation exceptions (e.g., loan documentation, missing and/or inaccurate documents) Ensure quality control review procedures and processes are updated for Commercial and Small Business quality control and loan policy exception reporting Create and distribute weekly Quality Control Review Exception Tracking Reports to Commercial Lending team Respond timely to adhoc requests for quarterly written Memo to the Credit Risk Management Committee detailing quality control review findings, loan policy exception findings, and present findings to the Credit Risk Management Committee Provide support to Investor Relations team by generating quarterly reports and related activities for specialized funding as requested May provide support during internal and external audits, as well as NCUA examinations, by performing a documentation review of all loan files requested by the auditors/examiners before the audit/examination begins Collaborate with Loan Officers and the Portfolio Management Team to clear outstanding quality control review exceptions Assist Quality Control Review team in continuing the evaluation, testing, and enhancement of the quality control review process Maintain required job knowledge, skills, and core professional competencies Attend and participate in required educational programs and staff meetings Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:




Required




High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in banking, commercial mortgage lending, real estate or community development Knowledge of Small Business Administration programs, commercial lending practices and terminology Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, MS Excel, Access, and Outlook) Ability to travel up to 25% (meetings, training, etc.)

Preferred




Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related area Demonstrated competence in C & I and commercial real estate lending, cash flow and project analysis, underwriting, structuring and lending policies and procedures, and the loan closing process. Community Development Finance experience preferred. General knowledge of banking regulatory requirements Experience working in nonprofit financial environment
