Position Summary:
KIT Custom HomeBuilders:
is seeking an experienced and motivated
Quality Control Manager:
to lead our Quality Control (QC) department. This individual will play a key role in ensuring every home we build meets state, federal, and company quality standards.
The QC Manager will work closely with production leaders, engineering, and third-party inspectors to uphold compliance, drive continuous improvement, and maintain KIT's long-standing reputation for excellence.
Compensation:
Annual Salary Range:
$95,000 - $145,000 (DOE)
Includes quarterly performance-based bonus as part of total annual compensation

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all phases of quality assurance throughout manufactured home construction.
Supervise and mentor QC inspectors; ensure inspections and documentation are accurate and timely.
Audit quality assurance processes and verify non-conformance items are identified and corrected promptly.
Coordinate with third-party inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance.
Maintain detailed QA/QC documentation and reports.
Collaborate with production teams to improve process quality and prevent recurring issues.
Research materials and construction requirements for compliance with building codes and standards.
Conduct daily inspections of homes in various stages of construction to ensure quality, completeness, and readiness for the next phase.
Perform a final inspection on every home prior to shipment to confirm that all punch-list items, warranty requirements, and quality standards have been met.
Work closely with production, quality control, and service departments to identify and resolve issues before homes leave the facility.
Support training efforts to enhance quality knowledge across departments.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to read and interpret building codes, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-driven.
Qualifications:
Required:
Background in building construction.
Supervisory or management experience.
Preferred:
Experience in manufactured home construction or modular housing.
Previous experience in quality control, inspection, or compliance management.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the production floor.
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Work performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and standard PPE requirements.
