Job Description

Benaka Inc. a General Contracting Construction Company, is looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager/Project Superintendent for a construction Project.

Please note that the selected candidate will be required to commute daily to the project site, which is located at the Naval Station in Newport, RI, and will have to go through a Background Check.



The following are some of the major responsibilities for the position.

- Previous experience of working on a construction project for the Federal Government is required.

- Work closely with the Project Superintendent in coordinating the work on the project site.

- Oversee the entire construction process and make decisions related to the performance of work, scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, safety etc.

- Managing the work to ensure that it is in compliance with and conforms to the contract documents (Drawings and Specifications).

- Gather, review submittals from the various subcontractors and send it to the govt. for their review and approval.

- Manage a project specific submittal register.

- Manage and coordinate three phases of control for all features of work. Complete all associated report forms.

- Conduct Preparatory meetings and initial inspections on all definable features of work and all new work activities

- Conduct and keep minutes of the QC/ Production Meeting

- Observe and monitor daily field activities for compliance with the plans and specifications. Perform field testing as required.

- Communicating with Owners/Govt. and architects/engineers in connection with field issues. Investigating and resolving such issues.

- Complete daily QC Reports for submission to the Owner and in house management.

- Prepare Purchase orders prior to ordering any material for the in house work on the project.

- Write RFI's in coordination with Project Superintendent.

- Conduct tool box talks on the project site on a weekly basis.

- Assist with project planning and buy out of materials prior to construction

- Attend all job site meetings with the owners and subcontractors

- Manage schedule and manpower throughout the duration of the project

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook etc.

- Willingness of Travel depending on the location of the project.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



A minimum 10 years of construction Experience with a strong focus on Quality Control, Experience with DOD construction contracts a MUST as the work will be on Federal Installation; OSHA 30 Hour Certification, Current USACE CQM management certification a plus; Proficiency with US Army Corps of Engineers Resident Management System (RMS) Website; Proficiency with Web based interactive programs and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project) is required.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
