Job Description


The Purchasing Assistant works directly with and for the Buyer and supports him/her in the merchandising of assigned product categories. The Purchasing Assistant enters and monitors product information for reorders daily. This is a Full Time Position Located in Idaho Falls, ID. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

  • Understands and maintains order point calculations within the company replenishment system.
  • Enters vendor, item and ordering information into company replenishment system.
  • Enters and monitors purchase orders.
  • Processes accurate and timely replenishment orders.
  • Work with vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Maintains vendor and item data integrity within the operating system.
  • Utilize Excel and Horizon systems, importing and exporting vendor and item data to maintain vendor and item files.
  • Manage seasonal inventory levels through the proper use and application of seasonal codes at the item and category level.
  • Completes customer special orders and communicates to appropriate store(s).
  • Employee must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • One year college business courses or relevant office experience.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel and email with an aptitude for learning new programs.
  • Efficient team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to create, understand and effect business through spreadsheets.
  • Understanding of retail math, price point analysis, inventory turns and margin.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years college courses in business administration or relevant work experience.
  • Retail operations or merchandising experience.
  • Strong analytical math skills.
  • Passion for retail merchandising.
  • Proficient in Outlook and PowerPoint.
