Posting on behalf of a client: Purchasing and Warehouse Specialist Individual will perform a variety of purchasing and warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment\'s storage plan. The goal is to increase efficiency and profitability. Work involves most of the following:
  • Coordinate and manage all activities during the purchasing process; this includes reviewing purchase orders, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained, and contacting vendors.
  • Update and maintain the asset inventory tracking system.
  • Contacting vendors or suppliers to schedule deliveries.
  • Compare prices and specifications to assist in determining the best purchasing options.
  • Track the status of requisitions and orders.
  • Maintain and update vendor list.
  • Review invoices for purchase and pricing of items prior to approval and sending to Accounts Payable.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, stock, organize).
  • Verifying materials against receiving documents.
  • Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.
  • Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
  • Removing material from storage and preparing it for operational teams.
Standard core working hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, but depending upon operational demands, the position could require some night and weekend work to adjust to surge situations. Required Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. \xc2\xb7 Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and always represent the Company in a positive manner.
  • Must be computer literate, familiar with technology.
  • Use programs required to complete assigned work, i.e., Sortly, Word, Excel, Google Docs.
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative to ask questions, ask for help, or provide updates, without reluctance
Physical Requirements \xc2\xb7 Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. \xc2\xb7 Phone use, laptop use, and filing required. \xc2\xb7 May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies up to 65 lbs. \xc2\xb7 Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
