The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services essential to Roberts Irrigation's operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards, supplier reliability, and timely delivery. Compensation

Salary: $70,000 (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Create and manage purchase orders for parts and materials Confirm purchase orders for accurate pricing, quantities, and lead times Perform parts invoice verification and resolve discrepancies Receive inbound product accurately within the WMS Maintain and strengthen vendor and manufacturer relationships Negotiate pricing, lead times, warranties, and product returns with vendors Create, document, and maintain Purchasing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and adjustments Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels with seasonality influx Lead and manage the annual physical inventory count Assist service staff with purchasing-related needs Support retail sales operations as needed

Requirements & Qualifications:

3-7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, and inventory control Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities daily Self-starter who works well independently with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Willingness to work extended hours and Saturdays during peak seasons Customer-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments
