Amos House is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) to join our growing multidisciplinary clinical team. The Psych NP will serve as the provider of record for a caseload of Amos House guests - many of whom have experienced trauma, homelessness, and incarceration.
Working under the Medical Director, the Psych NP will provide holistic psychiatric care that integrates mental health and substance use treatment, supports recovery, and promotes overall wellness. Your expertise will directly contribute to breaking barriers to care and empowering individuals on their path toward stability and healing.
Duties
Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations of patients to determine accurate diagnoses, considering both substance use disorder and mental health conditions.
Collaborate with the team to interpret assessment findings and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as therapists, social workers, and addiction specialists, to create integrated treatment strategies.
Prescribe and monitor medications for mental health and substance use conditions, adjusting treatment regimens as necessary based on patient response.
Educate patients about the potential benefits and side effects of medications and address any concerns.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and their families, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
Assess and manage crisis situations, providing immediate intervention and support for patients experiencing acute distress or relapse.
Stay updated with the latest research, developments, and best practices in the field of psychiatric care and substance use treatment.

Skills
The ideal, successful candidate will have a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:
Required
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialization.
Valid RI Nurse Practitioner license and certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health.
Experience in providing psychiatric care to patients with substance use disorder and mental illness.
Proficiency in conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnosing co-occurring disorders, and formulating treatment plans.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices for mental health and substance use treatment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
Compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
Ability to manage crisis situations with composure and sound clinical judgment
Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
Commitment to harm reduction principles and strategies

Pay: $90,996.39 - $109,587.05 per year
