job summary:
A Propulsion Engineer is needed for a multinational aerospace corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, and telecommunications equipment in the St. Charles, MO area. This position will lead the comprehensive development and integration of propulsion systems for vehicles, coordinating interfaces, specifications, and designs while leveraging technical expertise and experience in turbine engine propulsion, and providing leadership in testing, certification, and future system concepts.

responsibilities:

• Lead the definition of requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems, and vehicle fuel and tank systems.

• Lead the coordination and control of functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.

• Lead the development of specifications, architectural concepts, and configuration concepts for vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

• Lead configuration and design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet vehicle design and performance criteria.

• Utilize testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate system performance.

• Lead the definition and execution of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.

• Lead support of fielded systems by responding to customer queries and providing technical recommendations.

Skills:

• Preferred experience with weapons and small engines.

• strong understanding of propulsion system development, testing, and qualification, preferably with a focus on missiles.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor\'s with 9+ years\' experience,

• Master\'s with 7+ years\' experience, or

• PhD with 4+ years\' experience.

• Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.

• Minimum 10 years\' experience in turbine engine propulsion.

• At least 3 years of technical leadership experience (team lead, IPT lead, project lead, or technical lead).
