SUMMARY

The MGH Institute of Health Professions is a highly respected higher education institution founded by Massachusetts General Hospital. They are currently seeking a talented and motivated Project Manager to provide executive-level support and project management services for a range of high-visibility projects. The successful candidate will need to be a collaborative and team-oriented professional with excellent organizational and communication skills. They will work within the Division of Academic Affairs and collaborate with the institution\'s schools, programs, and research centers.

The Project Manager will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and evaluating academic programming and strategic initiatives. They will oversee the development of action plans to enhance current offerings and launch new revenue-generating activities. The Manager will ensure the quality and rigor of all academic courses and programs, support continuing regional accreditation, and collaborate with academic unit teams and the Faculty Senate on program development, review, approval, and evaluation. They will also create and lead an internal team to achieve economies of scale in enrollment marketing, course design and production, delivery, and exemplary student support services associated with offerings.

What you will do:

Project Management and Team Facilitation: 80%
  • Applies best practices in project management in the design, execution, and evaluation of high priority projects and initiatives within the Division of Academic Affairs.
  • In collaboration with project leaders, develops project workplans including identification of key constituents, deliverables, timelines and required resources.
  • Oversees project logistics such as meeting schedules, agenda development, production and distribution of meeting materials, and preparation of required reports on project status and activities.
  • Ensures that project activities are managed consistent with project plans.
  • Continuously assesses and makes effective recommendations to address any barriers or obstacles to achieving project goals.
  • Maintains all relevant project documentation.
  • Collaborates with senior leaders and others to develop outcome measurement and analytic strategies (includes the identification of key metrics and data sources and construction of practical data collection and communication plans).
  • Communicates regularly with executive sponsors, team leaders, process owners, and other constituents about team progress toward goal achievement, critical factors, and barriers.
  • Expertly leads the transition of assigned projects to process owners at the time of project closure, including developing a feasible plan to sustain and spread the improvements.
  • Manages and is accountable for the resources and deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Evaluates project risks; and rapidly identifies, problem solves, and communicates to the Director any issues that jeopardize project scope or on-time completion.
  • Engages in professional development activities; and seeks to instill in others relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities related to project management and process improvement.
Institute Accreditation/New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) 20%
  • Support the accreditation, tracking and academic compliance efforts of the Institute including, but not limited to the NECH.
  • Stay apprised of NECHE communications and attend NECHE workshops to ensure NECHE\xe2\x80\x99s policy and procedure changes are identified and implemented within the, including the areas of:
  • Criteria for Accreditation
  • Substantive changes
  • Federal Compliance (U.S. Department of Education mandates monitored via NECHE)
  • Monitor and assess NECHE compliance across the Institute.
  • Develop strategies to communicate NECHE compliance to the Institute community, including:
  • Advise IHP administration and schools on NECHE compliance
  • Serve as a resource to the IHP community regarding questions pertaining to accreditation
  • Act as the central point-of-contact regarding accreditation for the IHP community
  • Collect and analyze data from all schools and administration for the NECHE Annual Institutional Data Report.
  • Create and continually monitor timelines to ensure the Institute meets NECHE mandatory deadlines.

  • Other reports as requested by NECHE
  • Draft NECHE sub-committee charges.
  • Develop sub-committee training strategies on NECHE evaluation processes, roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage MGH Institute accreditation website.
  • Plan and implement the NECHE peer reviewer site visits.
  • Participate in Institute-wide assessment initiatives.
  • Position may supervise temporary labor or student graduate assistants.
Qualifications

What you will need:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required.
  • Three to five years of related experience, including project and program management experience.
  • Demonstrated use of technology for project management and experience with learner information and learning management systems.
  • Team-based project management experience.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive as part of a fast-paced team.
