Job Description


Position Summary:

The Project Executive \xe2\x80\x93 Rail provides leadership and managerial direction for the rail division and for specific projects assigned to ensure they are being managed and constructed in a safe and efficient manner, and in accordance with our policies and procedures. The position will work collaboratively with the business development function, in accordance with approved Business Plan and per the direction of senior leadership. The Project Executive \xe2\x80\x93 Rail reports to the Senior Vice President.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents, and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value \xe2\x80\x93 Safety First in everything we do.
  • Promote our Core Values in all interactions with customers and team members.
  • Manage day to day operations and provide overall P&L responsibility for the Rail Division
  • Update Rail Division Business and Strategic Plans and guide their execution
  • Responsible for the planning, staffing, and supervising personnel administration, performance reviews, defining functions, responsibilities, etc. from short and long-term perspectives
  • Participate, with Business Development staff, in the identification and development of new opportunities and clients using relationships, market information and
  • Ensure all departmental and company policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
  • Ensure all projects comply with corporate, state and federal, health and safety laws and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with all cost management and project controls policies and procedures
  • Maintain liaison with clients, subcontractors, and vendors and, if needed, resolve issues
  • Serve as the hiring manager for the Rail Division
  • Review correspondence on major issues prior to submission
  • Manage and participate in the resolution of construction claims and change orders for all projects
  • Review and approve all costs in bids
  • Provide input and guidance for Design-Build pursuits including marketing, design and construction approach and participate in the writing, as necessary, and review of all proposal documents
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master\'s Degree in Civil Engineering or construction-related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years\' experience in Heavy/Civil Construction Industry in a senior-level management position.

  • Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities, management styles and team compositions.
  • Team player and with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
