Full-time position available with the City Planning & Development Department, Administration Division located at 414 E. 12th St.
Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.*Telework available 1 day per week after 6-month probationary period.

Responsibilities




  • Reviews detailed drawings, specifications, and scope of work to verify permit and plan project values and identify discrepancies within applications.
  • Corresponds with owners and engineers in a timely manner to achieve clarification necessary to verify value.
  • Utilizes knowledge of construction estimating, construction techniques, and material costs on many types of development projects.
  • Uses city software systems, Microsoft office programs, and Bluebeam to obtain/review electronic documents.
  • Provides support to the development community in submitting project applications, development processes, and city requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications





REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and 2 years of professional experience of a progressively responsible nature in economic or community development work, planning, building codes administration, engineering, architecture, neighborhood development programs or a related field; OR an accredited Master\'s degree in economics, sociology, multi-disciplinary social science or urban affairs, urban planning, public or business administration, engineering, architecture or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Preference given for experience in construction trade industry and building codes.
