Job Description


Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is searching for a Project Engineer to drive and develop engineering solutions that will support aerospace business growth. In this position, you will oversee assigned projects to ensure they are completed to customer requirements, within budget, and on schedule. As a Project Engineer, you will utilize your engineering skills to support and work collaboratively with various groups across the organization to drive projects to success. We are looking for a driven and motivated engineer who can overcome obstacles and push a project forward. Someone who is eager to learn to work through the nuances and challenges that come along with new product development. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as technical resource within the Project Management team, to support business development on new product/process introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Actively drive and manage projects at various introductory stages.
  • Act as project manager, technical advisor and product advocate, actively driving a project to its completion.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturing partners, and internal team members.
  • Provide design and specification support from the project s inception to pre-production stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, as it pertains to assigned projects, and correspondence in company databases.
  • Provide comprehensive RFQ s and feedback in response to customer inquiries. This involves reviewing drawings and completely capturing the customer s expectations.
  • Uphold company s high standard of quality. Address, contain and resolve all quality issues expeditiously and effectively.
  • Function as backup to other project team members on customer and maintenance issues.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
  • Responsible for conforming with the company s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Bachelor s degree in mechanical, biomedical, aerospace or similar engineering discipline
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical prints
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and lead, or contribute, in a team environment
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and able to multitask under pressure
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Travel: 10%
  • Solid Works a plus
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
