Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer Come join our growing team where you will get to make a difference daily by continuing to help build our reputation for quality, responsiveness, and the ability to handle complex products. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer. We are looking for a dedicated project engineer to assist with scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and establishing inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project. This position will be in the office located in Newbury Park, CA.
Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Program Manager and Chief Engineer in planning, schedule maintenance, project management, and budget control including the following:
    • Leading the fabrication development efforts of components including manufacturing demonstrations
    • Coordinating with procurement staff to place purchase orders
    • Coordinating with suppliers and managing hardware deliveries
    • Leading non-compliant hardware investigations
    • Independently generating impact assessments
    • Planning and conducting tests and product verification activities
    • Leading documentation efforts for major reviews
    • Interfacing with program teams and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions
    • Developing trade studies, design concepts, systems integration, and component-level test plans
  • Add senior technical value directly to programs by leading or contributing to projects on an ongoing basis (senior level)
  • Exemplify outstanding conduct for your group\xe2\x80\x99s members in shepherding your group through successful project development and design/build/test cycles

Relevant Experience and Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or related field
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related field (senior level)
  • 2-5 years of direct project planning experience
  • 7-10 years of direct project planning experience (senior level)
  • Extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles (senior level)
  • Knowledge of design and visualization software such as Creo
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Project or similar project planning software
  • Familiarity with PLM systems, specifically Windchill
  • Knowledge of bills of material and hardware utilization plans
  • Understanding of rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to manage development requirements in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Travel Requirements: Local interoffice travel expected (25 miles one-way) during setup of new facility (in Newbury Park, CA) and shutdown of old facility (in Simi Valley, CA)

Pay: Salary $100,000 to $150,000 DOE
