Summary of Job

• Hybrid role - could be exclusively remote anywhere in the US but the best areas are Holmdel, NJ / Rochester NY / Albany, NY / Charlotte NC, Miami FL / San Antonio or Austin, TX, Phoenix, AZ. In these areas they have an office presence with finance presence and so they could work hybrid in these locations.

The sector of the construction industry that provides the services on the architectural design, engineering design and construction services

• Project Accounting Manager role that will ideally be based in alone of our offices, or remote, for the right candidate.

A couple of the must haves

• 5-10 years AEC industry experience
• Project accounting responsibilities that include managing a portfolio of AEC projects for a business of $40M or more in annual revenue.
• Have managed a team of 5 or more
• Revenue recognition, percentage of completion, preparing estimates at complete for fixed price/lump sum projects
• Experience with WIP/Unbilled validation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated experience interfacing with mid-senior level leadership.
• BST ERP experience preferred.
• BST ERP is their internal software - it\'s great if someone has this but software experience with DelTek Vison ERP or CostPoint are similar technologies that would indicate to the manager that the candidate is using the right tools
• Anyone with experience in working on federal contracts, regulatory or DoT (Department of Transportation) and has done Overhead Audits / DoT Audits and compliance would also give the manager comfort the person has the right skills

Overview

• Seeking a Project Accounting Manger to join our team.
• This Project Accounting Manager will oversee all day-to-day financial aspects of the project life cycle from project set up through project close out process in collaboration with project managers, division leadership and project accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform Revenue recognition for project portfolio.

• Prepare month end/ad hoc reporting and analysis for project managers, division leadership, and accounting team.

• Research and document project billing/revenue issues and assist project managers in resolution.

• Proactively monitor timeliness of billing for assigned division(s), follow-up with project managers regarding collections routinely.

• Assist with coordination and reporting for audits.

• Verify the proposed setup of large or complex projects to ensure alignment with the contract/proposal.

• Reviewing material or complex draft invoices for Project Managers.

• Manage assigned billing/project accounting staff members, including staff development, engagement, and annual goals are mutually agreed upon.

• Provide training to billing/project accounting staff as well as project managers and administrative support staff throughout the company.

• Perform other accounting tasks or special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic / Minimum Education requirement to perform the job: Bachelor\'s in Accounting, Finance or Business.

• Relevant Years of experience required to perform the role: 7-10+ years.

• Percentage of completion (POC); Revenue recognition experience preferred.

• AEC experience preferred.

• Experience managing a team size of 5+ preferred.

• Effective communication skills.

• Experience with BST software a plus.

• Experience in billing federal, state, and county projects a plus.

• Mid-level to Advanced Excel skills.

• Ability to work overtime when required.

A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base salary for this position is to $80K to $125K/annum
