Purpose of Job:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the overall administration, direction, and integrity of APCON\xe2\x80\x99s daily accounting operations, such as: preparing and reviewing appropriate general ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing internal financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) , maintenance of its fiscal records, and assisting with regulatory reporting ensuring accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results and financial performance.

What you\'ll do:

Oversees the preparation of financial statements and maintains the integrity of all processes that drive financial data. Assists in adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures; monitors key internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the reliability of financial statements

Performs full-cycle general accounting and month-end close duties

Responsible for managing payroll processing operations. Establishes policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Interfaces between finance and human resource departments to provide accurate and useful information. Develops and produces payroll-related statistical reports. Ensures accurate and on-time governmental reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • General ledger, cost accounting, A/P, A/R, inventory reconciliation, forecasting, and oversight of payroll and payroll processes
  • Preparation of the internal financial and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP, to include analysis for any variances and metrics
  • Ensures balance sheet accounts are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger
  • Responsible for researching variances, determining root causes, and providing management feedback
  • Preparation of financial materials to the executive team
  • Reviews financial statements for operating trends.
  • Review corporate local, federal, international, and multi-state sales tax (to include e-commerce nexus)
  • Assists with general cost accounting functions to support product costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and product profitability
  • Performs and monitors inventory levels, department budgets, plant performance, etc.
  • Monitors capital equipment expenditures
  • Maintains the fixed asset program
  • Monitors project costs
  • Coordinates efforts to comply with internal and external audit/reviews
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the job offered or accounting related field
  • 2+ years of accounting management experience
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP
  • Highly proficient with Excel (macros, pivots, lookups, financial modeling) to organize, analyze, and present financial data
  • Experience with payroll systems and payroll administration
  • Experience with ERP systems (ACCPAC / Sage 300 and MISys)
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting or finance (Preferred)
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) (Preferred)
