Leisnoi Inc. is an Alaska Native Corporation experiencing rapid growth. The Project Accountant is the liaison between Finance and Operational personnel to establish projects, assist with billings setup to internal and external customers, revenue recognition, project budget input, and margin analysis. Subject matter expert for Costpoint project, billings, revenue setup to assist operations with day-to-day questions/concerns. Must have government contract accounting experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Review contract proposals to gain an understanding of profitability, use of subcontractors, and other unique circumstances related to the project, including the work breakdown structure in terms of billing requirements, so the project setup is anticipated upon award.
  • Review contracts and contract modifications to identify finance and billing requirements.
  • Complete a summary project road map for distribution to key departments at the time of contract award
  • Work with project managers to create monthly WIP/job schedules for construction contracts
  • Manage all revenue adjustments and reconciliations related to the percentage completion method of accounting for construction contracts
  • Perform monthly revenue recognition reviews
  • Perform monthly unbilled receivable reconciliations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination, integration, and review of corporate and LLC inputs to project data, such as budgets, billing, disbursements, contracts, risk assessment, and reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc project level financial analysis as needed.
  • Provide contract specific financial reports per customer specifications.
  • Assist with contract reporting deliverables as needed.
  • Provide a monthly risk register outlining known contract variables.
  • Work with operations team members to ensure project setup accurately produces job cost reports, invoicing, project budgets, and revenue recognition
  • Set up project budgets within Costpoint
  • Prepare monthly accruals for subcontractors, labor, and fringe
  • Reviews projects and prepares monthly entries for loss provision, warranty, and cost in excess
  • Assists with several reports to include bonding report, reporting for projects, monthly financial reporting, and year end statements
  • Works with SR. Controller to recognize monthly revenue for all subsidiaries ensuring appropriate recognition in accordance with GAAP and contract guidelines
  • Margin analysis of project to ensure costs are accurately and appropriately recorded
  • Work closely with Operational team to ensure correct costing and project margins
  • Prepare all client billings and submit after PM approval, via WAWF or IPP (or as contract dictated)
  • Monitor contract compliance by ensuring contact clauses and requirements is accurately recorded in project setup
  • Integral piece of the audit preparation and support
  • Assists with preparation of incurred costs submissions
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (BS) in Accounting or 8+ years of project accounting experience may be substituted \xc2\xb7 Advanced knowledge of Costpoint, Cognos reporting, and Microsoft suite of products \xc2\xb7 Advanced knowledge of various contract types to include Cost Plus, Time & Materials, Estimate at Complete (EAC). Must have proven experience with EAC development and tracking for construction and other milestone driven contracts. \xc2\xb7 Expert understanding of FAR, DFARS, GAAP, and DCAA audit standard \xc2\xb7 Experience with contract closeouts and unbilled receivables \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with indirect costs pools and allocations Preferred Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures \xc2\xb7 5+ years Construction Accounting experience Physical Demands Frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper, reaching with hands and arms for items above and below desk level, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the office with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 2 hours; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds such as small office equipment, files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials. Work Environment Work is performed in an office setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often.
