Local Government Services (LGS) works with local governments (counties, cities & towns, school districts and special districts) to ensure uniform financial accountability, and to assist the local governments in complying with their statutory financial and budgetary reporting requirements. LGS works with local governments and independent CPA firms to ensure that financial and compliance audits meet statutory requirements and professional standards. LGS also ensures that all documents submitted by local governments are made available to the public on the LGS website.

This position provides administrative support to LGS and serves as the first point of contact with local governments, auditors, stakeholders, and other state agencies, which will require excellent customer service, communication, and problem solving. The small team of 11 accountants and leaders you would work with, and support are passionate about their mission and supportive of one another. In this position you would be responsible for the initial receipting and posting payments to customer accounts and processing of documents received from local governments and auditors. This includes ensuring that all documents are properly stored and updated in the section\xe2\x80\x99s consolidated records system so that they are accessible for further review by fellow staff members. You would also ensure documents are available on the public transparency website. You would maintain external communications, templates, and calendars. You would work closely with local government entities ensuring proper records management. What are we looking for?
Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and two years office, accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
  • It would be GREAT if you had SABHRS experience, but we are also willing to provide training on how to use the states accounting system.
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
