Program Supervisor

Role Structure & Time Expectations



This role is

primarily out-of-ratio

, working closely with educators in their classrooms.

Staff Mentorship & Classroom Coaching60%

Work alongside teachers in the classroom; model and support practice; observe interactions; provide in-the-moment and ongoing feedback; follow through on professional development goals.

Administrative Support15%

Documentation, scheduling, recording staff check-ins, curriculum support, communication notes, and assisting with program planning.

Community & Family Relationship Building10%

Supporting family communication, staff-family partnership, and community events.

Licensing & Compliance Support15%

Maintain DCYF-required records, monitor safety/environmental licensing standards, and support Early Achievers quality measures.

This role is

hands-on supervision

-- supporting teachers in real time, not just observing from the sidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Development & Coaching

Mentor staff individually and collectively in relationship-based, developmentally supportive practices Offer

constructive, compassionate feedback

and follow-up support Conduct daily staff check-ins and ongoing observation cycles Complete 30-day check-ins with new staff and assist in performance evaluations
Classroom & Curriculum Support

Support teachers in implementing a

play-based, HighScope-inspired

curriculum Model co-regulation, emotional attunement, and respectful guidance Help maintain emotionally safe, inclusive, and sensory-responsive classroom environments Understand how basic needs, attachment, and emotional safety shape behavior
Program Administration & Community Culture

Help coordinate community and family engagement events throughout the year Support positive, supportive communication across the program Contribute to a staff culture rooted in reflection, empathy, and accountability
Licensing & Compliance

Maintain required licensing and enrollment documentation Ensure learning environments meet DCYF safety and licensing standards Maintain a collaborative and professional relationship with our licensor

Required Qualifications



4+ years experience

in early childhood education

2+ years experience

mentoring, supervising, or coaching educators Knowledge of

social-emotional development, co-regulation, and trauma-responsive practice

Experience with

play-based, emergent, or child-led curriculum

Familiarity with

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

as applied to both children and educators*
Ability to provide feedback with

warmth, clarity, and follow-through


Education Requirement:



AA or BA in Early Childhood Education

, orequivalent documented ECE experience with progress through

DCYF/MERIT pathways


Compensation & Benefits



Pay:

$26-$34 per hour, DOE, paid via check

Benefits: available 60 days after employment begins



$150/month

Interview Process



30-minute phone screening

30-minute Zoom interview

On-site Classroom & Culture Visit (3 hours)

2 hours visiting classrooms and engaging with children and staff 1-hour interview with leadership team

Final Task:

Create a mini curriculum activity Provide written teacher observations
This process ensures a strong, thoughtful, mutual fit.
