ABS is seeking a highly qualified individual who is committed to human capital management and customer service focused that enjoys working in a high paced environment upholding the values of ABS to serve in the position of Senior Human Resources Generalist.

WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING

As the Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will:

  • Provide direct, day-to-day, supervision of the department human resources team, reviewing and approving the work product and activities of all staff with human resources responsibilities.
  • Manage FMLA, COVID-19 reporting, Health Status Reporting for ABS, and serve as the ABS Liaison to the County\'s Occupational Medical Services staff.
  • Manage the department\'s labor and employee relations program; investigate violations of County policy, procedures, and conduct; and maintain and/or prepare disciplinary records and actions, as required.
  • Lead the Department\'s recruitment and selection process; train all levels of staff with relevant responsibilities; and serve as the ABS Liaison to the County\'s Office of Human Resources Recruiting and Selection staff.
  • Manage the Department\'s background check process, position and record management functions.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to programs and teams in managing human resource transactions, supporting positive working relationships with representatives of the employee\'s union.
  • Lead periodic reviews and compliance checks of the department\'s personnel services and operations.
  • Lead the delivery of regular human resources training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What We are Seeking

To be a successful Senior Human Resource Generalist, you must:
  • Demonstrate clear and current knowledge and understanding of, and ability to apply, the County\'s personnel regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and human resources operational guidelines.
  • Have experience in public personnel management.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
  • Have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Have advance skills working in Microsoft Office, experience in Oracle and other relational databases computer programs.
  • Be resourceful and flexible in managing multiple, competing priorities in a complex and comprehensive business environment within a government structure.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The selected candidate will be required to complete a background investigation and a medical history.

This position MAY require work during non-traditional hours to include early mornings, evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays; may require work that involves physical demands, occasionally working in warehouse and/or retail store environments; and the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside of the assigned facility.

To ensure a positive workplace and to comply with federal, state, and County laws, the incumbent is responsible for completing mandatory trainings within the first three to six months or within the specified timeframe.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

You will have five (5) years of progressively responsible, professional experience in human resources management. Candidates with work experience in the public sector or government human resources are highly desired. Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor\'s degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for either the education or experience.
