JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

is seeking applicants for the Program Coordinator of Student Organizations position (Cocurricular Programs Coordinator 3). The successful applicant will join a team of professionals, graduate assistants, and undergraduate staff and can demonstrate a commitment to fostering exploration, community engagement, and the development of students.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Student Organizations, the Program Coordinator is responsible for:

administering student organization recognition processes through OrgCentral (Penn State\xe2\x80\x99s Anthology Engage platform)

facilitating and developing student leadership training

hosting annual awards programs for the +1000 recognized student organizations at Penn State

serve as a program registration and contract advisor to student organizations

co-advise UPAC (student org funding committee)

supervising a small team of Student Org Consultant undergrads

The ability to work effectively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds and experiences is critical to the success of the Student Leadership & Involvement team and this role. The successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of student development, communicate effectively and have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Education and Experience:

Typically requires a Master\'s degree or higher and 1+ years of related experience, or a related Bachelor\'s and 5+ years of experience

2 years of related graduate assistantship qualifies as equivalent 1+ years of work equivalency

This position may require that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks. A willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support occasional night and weekend activities is required.
