Who we are

The McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship seeks to enhance the livelihood of Texas A&M University and the greater community. Since 1999, the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship has served as the hub of entrepreneurship at Texas A&M University. We\xe2\x80\x99re committed to the success of entrepreneurs and believe they are the cornerstone of a robust economy, community and nation. The McFerrin Center provides events, programs, scholarships, competitions and more to enterprising students, faculty, former students and veterans. With the support of our volunteer network, corporate partners, faculty and staff, the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship has been able to support the achievements of entrepreneurs within the Aggie Network, throughout the State of Texas and across the U.S.

The Program Coordinator II, under general supervision, will work collaboratively with leadership to coordinate, plan and implement programs at the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship. This position also provides support on all Center programs and events related to the McFerrin Center. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire\xe2\x80\x99s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of program management, event execution/planning experience, or other related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to successfully manage tasks concurrently while meeting assigned deadlines and maintaining excellent work.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to assist in arranging furniture (tables & chairs) as needed based on program event requirements.
Other Requirements and Factors:
  • Frequent evening work hours may be required, as well as occasional weekends. Infrequent in-state travel may also be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google or related software.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage an academic program and/or event.
Essential Duties/Tasks

Program Coordination and Implementation:

Work with the Center\xe2\x80\x99s Program Team to coordinate and implement programs and events such as competitions, conferences, seminars, lectures, receptions, meetings and workshops that pertain to McFerrin Center.

Maintain and track program timelines in relation to event/program operations.

Assist Center leadership in gathering information for establishing goals, policies and procedures as related to events and programs.

Collaborate with program staff to develop and maintain programming standards.

Operational Support

May prepare and monitor budgets for programs and events; assist in the maintenance of program records and databases, and coordinate program operations to ensure appropriate equipment, staff support and budget.

Execute day-to-day tasks associated with McFerrin programs and events as directed by the Program Team leadership including, but not limited to:
  • Tracking and supporting engagement throughout all programs and events
  • Implementing scheduled activities
  • Coordinating center event spaces and calendars
Program Evaluation

Provide support in evaluating events and activities against McFerrin Center goals and objectives

Evaluates, Identifies and recommends program improvements regarding logistics, operations and communications; may prepare reports for leadership.

Assist with developing and updating logistical procedures and materials for programs and performs other duties as assigned.
