We are looking for a Production Manager or what we call Value Stream Lead to work with our amazing team!

The Value Stream Lead is to serve as the facility\xe2\x80\x99s primary Production leader for the value stream and have accountability for all operational performance. Provide direction and accountability to the supervisors, team leads and other assigned company resources (personnel, equipment and materials) while collaborating with Engineering, Quality Supply Chain and Maintenance personnel to achieve work schedules and satisfy customer requirements in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Monitors and reviews all performance metrics which include but not limited to production efficiencies, shipments and delivery, quality metrics, revenue, safety and environmental, business continuity plans and others. Accountable for the ongoing development of high performing Supervisors, Team Leads, and associates. Also responsible for identifying and implementing Lean Manufacturing improvements resulting in improved efficiency, lead time, and cost reduction.

  • Demonstrate Viant Values and adhere to all safety, regulatory and quality requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Provides direction in the resolution of technical and production-related problems to assure completion of weekly schedules that meet or exceed Company and Customer expectations.
  • Establishes effective staffing strategies to meet performance requirements including the balance of full-time and flex staffing options.
  • Monitors the alignment of product or line(s) with master production schedule and material planning to meet production goals.
  • Monitors VS performance measures, ensures goals are met and develop/implement corrective/ preventive actions or recovery plans as necessary.
  • Develops and maintains direct relationships with customers in order to better understand the voice of the customer. Leads and/or participates in customer business reviews and will generate the necessary actions/ plans to achieve outstanding customer service results.
  • Ensures all work orders are complete and accurate by creating a culture for GDP
  • Drives a workforce culture that fosters a safe work environment and self-directed team approach. This includes setting strategic safety initiatives yearly and facilitating the tactical execution of those safety initiatives using general knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Identifies, arranges and/or provides training to ensure a safe, efficient, quality work environment with focus on continuous improvement through Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Facilitates communication, coordination and conflict resolution within the VS including support groups.
  • Provides leadership in all areas including: hiring, performance management, and coaching, counseling and corrective actions.
  • Develops and monitors budgetary guidelines and spending levels to ensure cost-effective operation.
  • Prepares and manages operational and capital expenditure budgets
  • Promotes an atmosphere of diversity, open communication and trust, affording opportunities for training and growth.
  • Remains flexible to the needs of the business and performs other functions as required.
  • Participate in planning or change meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks.
  • Ensure the Value streams/teams are supporting and understanding standard work and quality. Consistently analyzes TAKT time, cycle time and balance charts accordingly while utilizing A3 problem solving to ensure continuous improvements and new style implementations.
  • Monitors and manages attendance, PTO and overtime of associates through the daily updating/processing of Dayforce (payroll system).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Education
  • 3-8 years experience in the Medical Device or other regulated industry, such as QSR and ISO 13485, with increasing responsibility
  • Experience with FDA and ISO 13485 Certification inspections is a plus
  • Must be adept in use of computer software for the analysis of data, preferably Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus
  • Ability to organize and judge priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must possess excellent verbal & written communication skills, which include but are not limited to presentation, organizational and management skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:
  • Safety Glasses, Hair Net, Protective gowning (lab coat, hood, shoe covers)
Skills/Competencies:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Inclusive of negotiation and conflict navigation skills)
  • Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Metric Reporting through Excel or other systems
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to lead a team
  • Flexible nature enabling Team to perform various job duties, meet deadlines and multi-task as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination
  • Extended periods of walking/moving, bending, lifting, and standing
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs, but will require team lifting or use of a lift assist during these circumstances
  • Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:
  • Protective eyewear
  • Ear plugs
  • Protective gowning (CME Guidelines, Safety Shoes, Apron, Respirator, Safety Shield)
Schedule Requirements:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Swing Shift (preferred across shifts for continuity)
