Our operations include a 66,000 square foot SQF, BAP MSC, GF, ASC certified production and a 110,000 square foot cold storage facility.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Due to our growth, we are seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to perform routine and complex equipment maintenance tasks to various components of a processing and packaging operation. This individual must be comfortable working independently and as a team to deliver exceptional work to the Production and Quality teams. In addition to daily tasks, this role participates in continuous improvement projects as well as equipment changeovers.
SCOPE of WORK
Perform preventative and general maintenance and repairs to production equipment assigned to ensure proper functionality and optimal efficiency
Overhaul existing and install new equipment for a distinct area of production.
Trouble shoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
Generate and complete work orders as assigned.
Participate in some facility maintenance.
Work in a team and report to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a high-speed environment.
Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative experience preferred, both mechanical and electronic.
Prior facilities or equipment maintenance experience ideally in food processing and standard packaging.
Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
Machining, welding, and other shop floor skills are a plus, but not required.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential for effective communication within the team.
Proficiency in verbal Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Candidates must have the ability to push/pull up to 100 Lbs., lift to 50 Lbs., and climb ladders, stairs, and steps.
Must be able to bend at the waist, sit, stand, kneel, lay down, climb, and walk for periods of time.
HOURS of OPERATION
A typical week may exceed 45 hours; weekends are possible based on production schedules.
EDUCATION
High School diploma and applicable trade licenses and experience in food production are a plus.
