Southern Textile Services is a full-service linen provider that provides hygienically clean healthcare linens to hospitals and surgical centers throughout Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. The employee performs tasks involved in the laundering and preparation of linens for Southern Textile Services healthcare clients. The employee in this role must exhibit accountability and flexibility in a fast paced, goal oriented, production environment. Physical requirements include repetitive motions over the duration of an entire shift including; repeated bending, stretching, twisting, reaching, pushing/pulling and lifting as well as excessive standing. Work days vary \xe2\x80\x93 facility is open seven (7) days a week. Work hours may be adjusted due to workloads. Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities:

• Process soiled linen as assigned in the washroom in preparation for the dryers.
• Move linens that have been processed through the washer to the dryer area.
• Retrieve dried linen from dryers and move through production as specified.
• Feed and operate press machinery, or sort and fold for final finishing.
• Manually feed laundry into machinery.
• Grade quality of linen while feeding items.
• Pack sanitized linens according to customer specifications.
• Retrieve cleaned/dried linens which have been bundled (tied together in bundles) and load them into carts.
• Operate forklifts, pallet movers, and other material handling equipment.
• Repair hospital linens with holes or raveled seams.
• Under general supervision follow processes, work rules, and policies that are in place to meet safety, quality and production goals.
• Grade quality of linens while handling items; follow processes in place for items that do not meet quality standards.
• Meet or exceed current production standards.

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses Required:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in a production environment desired.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Some basic math skills required to track production goals.
• Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
• Ability to meet production and safety standards.
• Strong teamwork skills
• Open to and able to work any day of the week, position and/or schedule, including holidays.

• Must be able to stand or walk for a minimum of a twelve plus (12+) hour shift.
• Must be able to push/pull linen carts weighing as much as 500 pounds.
• Must have range of motion in upper extremities to perform all the duties in this job.

• Must be able to bend at the waist to place or retrieve linen bundles at or from floor height.
