POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Program & Retail Specialist assists the Director of Product Program & Retail in supporting Product Program Service Unit Leaders and Troop Leaders to increase Cookie and Sweets & Treats participation. The Product Program & Retail Specialist will have ownership over the Fall Sweets & Treats Program and assist with retail operations. The incumbent is responsible for creating forecasts, generating reports, documenting product inventories, and determining areas of growth within the Sweets & Treats Program. The Product Program & Retail Specialist's primary focus will be on the Sweets & Treats Program and retail operations, and they will also be instrumental in supporting the Cookie Program.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Creates forecasts and is responsible for delivering projected revenue and Girl Scout participation rates for the Sweets & Treats Program.
Vets vendors and makes suggestions to the Director of Product Program & Retail for the Sweets & Treats Program.
Researches and prepares a plan for the Sweets & Treats program; including rewards, reward levels, product retails and marketing strategies.
Ensures organizational needs are met by providing adequate and timely program materials.
Provides accurate and timely responses to questions from volunteers and parents and refers unanswerable questions to the appropriate individuals.
Provides technical support to volunteers and parents.
Can think critically while problem solving and is comfortable facilitating conflict resolution.
Achieves sales goals while ensuring customer's needs are met through responsive customer service.
Can maintain confidentiality and is aware of and able to comply with Council policies.
Works with Service Unit Volunteers to notify Troop Leaders/Product Program Team Members and/or parents of any discrepancies in Girl Scout participation to insure they are addressed in a timely manner.
Works with members of the Product Program Team to choose relevant products and Girl Scout, Troop and Service Unit rewards and incentives.
Assists in training and provides program information to staff and volunteers to ensure greater program satisfaction.
Uses data analytics and reports to manage inventory levels, including ordering and distribution.
Uses innovative thinking to create increased revenues, greater efficiencies and cost savings.
Acts as a credible resource to represent and implement all aspects of the Girl Scout Movement.
Exhibits positive leadership qualities when internally and externally representing the organization.
Manages the coordination of Independently Registered Girl Scouts by area volunteers to assist them in their efforts.
Assistants in developing training materials for volunteers and staff based on current Product Program themes.
Attends Product Program Team Meetings, as directed.
Attends Annual Product Sales Trainings and assists with the training of volunteers.
Coordinates GSNENY Annual Council Cookie Rally
Delivers and operates retail sales opportunities through pop-up shops, sales events at the council office, pre-order of summer camp gear, and bulk orders.
Assures and completes accurate processing of customer emails and responds to automated queue cases for retail operations and tasks generated from Salesforce within the established acceptable timeline.
Receives, inspects, counts, accepts inventory deliveries, and enters into OpSuite.
Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of yearly Retail Sales strategic plans and budgets to achieve organizational and regional goals.
Works with the Director of Product Program and Retail to develop and implement multi-faceted marketing strategies to support goal achievement through the development of promotional and advertising materials.
Build and maintain key relationships with other councils and Girl Scout Merchandise representatives and other licensed vendors to create strategic alliances and to enhance product knowledge and changes in current trends and pricing.
Maintain the Council POS and OP suite databases to generate accurate sales and management reports.
Analyzes data to increase revenue, customer satisfaction and participation in Retail Sales opportunities.
Completes annual and periodic physical inventories and planning of product distribution.
In coordination with staff and volunteers, complete the order process for council custom merchandise including, but not limited to, draft designing, solicitation and assessment of bids, and budget approval.
Ensures compliance with applicable council finance policies.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Product Program & Retail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Exchanging information in sometimes noisy environments
Regularly traversing within office and occasionally on uneven terrain while out of office for various events
Moving items such as mailed packages or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
Identification of details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
Regular operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery for hours at a time
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree, or a minimum of five years of related experience required.
Experience working with diverse populations and demonstrated personal and professional commitment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong background in MS Windows, data software programs and communication via email.
Experience in online instruction and learning technologies.
Experience working within individual and team settings.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule (including some evenings and weekends) and travel primarily throughout the Council's geographic area.
Current valid driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and vehicle availability.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
