We are seeking an experienced product owner to help lead this mission. The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity. We need someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset for distilling business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs. Most important, we need a product owner who can help us build better products that people love to use. The Product Owner is responsible for the success of a product (or products), ensuring it creates value for its users, customers, and the company. He/she is responsible for the prioritization of product backlog and release schedule and will work closely with other stakeholders (such as product managers, project managers, engineering, and commercial teams) on all workstreams to ensure that development work is done with the quality that is required. Experience within B2B SaaS products and ideally experience in the biopharmaceutical/drug development industry is preferred.

Objectives of this role

  • Lead team scrums to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project
  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
  • Work closely with product managers and business teams to create and maintain product backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile product management
Responsibilities
  • Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog
  • Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they\xe2\x80\x99re clearly understood by relevant teams
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy
  • Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals
  • Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
  • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Five or more years of experience in product development
  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management
  • Understanding of business value related to features and functions
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
  • Excellent capability to gather, evaluate and understand business process & requirements
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and analyze customer product requirements, and prioritize and schedule development initiatives
  • Coordinate development resources with the centralized development team and manage project work plans
  • Participate in internal meetings in both structured and ad-hoc manner, (such as stand-ups and sprint planning) to support development, track progress and identify potential problems and solutions
  • Maintain and prioritize product backlog;
  • Regularly communicate new product features internally and train client facing staff on them
Preferred skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (or equivalent) in related discipline
  • Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology
  • Experience working with APIs

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $140,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
