Role Summary

Join the Supplemental Health Solutions (SHS) team as a Product Management Advisor, a manager-level, individual contributor role focused on the delivery of product management and product enhancement strategies and initiatives designed to maximize profitable growth and revenue targets. Strategies include market and segment analysis, product definition, competitive assessment and underwriting/pricing strategies, ensuring that products deliver superior value to customers. Engage with others in Cigna\'s SHS organization, and key matrixed business partners across the value chain to transform Product Solution roadmap initiatives into market-leading solutions.

Description:

This position will have primary responsibility for synthesizing buying group and segment needs of customers, clients, and brokers, leading competitive analysis assessments, solving product-related operational issues, and executing on new product enhancement projects, and components of product roadmap tasks or initiatives. In addition, this position will support the group Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity product suite to maximize market penetration, growth and earnings, including the coordination of market receptivity testing and new concept definition. This Position will also manage execution of product requirements, and will be responsible to work in partnership with the Product Development Team to support the launch and maintenance of new and existing group supplemental health product solutions.

Direct responsibilities:

  • Serve as a specialized Supplemental Health Product expert to deliver against roadmap projects and initiatives
  • Responsible for the end-to-end operationalization of existing or enhanced products and services
  • Utilizes product templates and artifacts to ensure continuity of existing product and future enhancements
  • Executes and supports exploratory product solution pilots
  • Provides SME and training support to Product Development Team and Enterprise partners
  • Leads Go-To-Market decisions for product solution enhancements and updated underwriting offers, pricing, and operations including configurability to best meet segment and buying group needs
  • Drives business partner alignment and decision-making with key partners to gather initial requirements. Works directly with Product Business Advisor on enabling these requirements within our systems and business tools
  • Synthesizes competitive positioning and buying group needs that translate into product suite design requirements
  • Executes on product-driven project plans and supports general SHS business initiatives and projects
  • Ensures the features and limitations of products are incorporated into product value proposition, marketing plan, and incorporated into operational processes, including case exception handling
  • Owns delivery and operationalization of post-launch minor product initiatives such as new state approvals, pre-sale and post-sale product updates, supporting filing and rating enhancements
  • Utilizes measurements and tracking against business unit/segment commitments to new product development and product management
  • Manages all aspects of our Value Added Service vendor program, including ongoing maintenance and relationship building, future expansion, reporting, and escalations.
  • Manages industry work associated with our products, including coordinating, completing, and submitting industry surveys and attending relevant industry study groups.
  • Management of product artifacts and marcomm material updates in our internal tool(s) to support sales, operations, marketing, and training
  • Manage Product responses on industry requests for proposals (RFP) and information on plan design capabilities
  • SME on plan designs and variations in order to accurately address questions from internal and external partners
  • Owns management and improvements of Product reporting needs
Ideal candidates will offer:
  • A minimum of 5+ years\' experience in product development, product management, or product marketing role.
  • Demonstrated experience in product development in a high growth environment
  • Proven ability to influence cross functional teams to achieve results in a dynamic, rapidly changing market.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with demonstrated success achieving results through others
  • Knowledge of market research methods including statistics, research design, marketing and product applications
  • Entrepreneurial - comfortable under pressure and able to focus on ideas or concepts that may be unclear or ambiguous
  • Knowledge of financial components of product/general management (ROI, budgeting, underwriting, etc)
  • Experience with policy and rate form filing and compliance
  • Well developed and proven analytical skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into action.
  • Undergraduate degree

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 89,000 - 148,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
