Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving products while ensuring they meet quality standards and customer requirements. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, process engineering, and manufacturing practices. The Product Development Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement in our product offerings.
Duties
Design and develop new products using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues in product performance and implement effective solutions.
Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation in product development processes.
Oversee plastics injection molding processes to ensure product quality and efficiency.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize assembly line processes and tooling.
Engage in robot programming for automated systems within the manufacturing facility.
Create and interpret schematics for various industrial equipment used in production.
Apply lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Conduct mechanical testing and validation of prototypes to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and performance.
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in product development within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, and CNC programming.
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
Experience with vision inspection systems for quality assurance processes.
Background in robotics, tooling design, and assembly processes is highly desirable.
Knowledge of quantum engineering concepts is a plus but not required.
