Responsibilities: We want someone who absolutely LOVES product development and has a passion for creating products that have an intimate connection with our customers. We also want someone who is obsessed with detail and organized with information, communication, and follow-through. You will roll up your sleeves to research, develop, and test new products, get vendor approvals, and communicating with overseas factories. We also want someone to obsessively manage project communication and details. Simply put, we want someone who wants to harness BOTH their creative and organizational abilities.

• Support the V.P of Product Development in leading the product creation process from inception to production, ensuring all milestones are met.
• Contribute to all phases of the product development and manufacturing process:
• Product research and strategy
• Sourcing and evaluation of overseas factories
• Fabric, component, and material selection
• Technical drawing(s) and specification creation
• Pricing and supplier negotiations
• Product prototype, testing, and component approvals
• Develop and manage daily communication and relationships with existing and potential vendors and manufacturers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date product database to track product and production lifecycle.
• Maintain vendor database, including contact information, location, and organizational history.
• Keep up to date in industry trends, innovation, and technology.
• Gain a clear understanding of LUXOME product knowledge, product features, and product benefits.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts for products, pricing, and vendor relations.
• Work closely with the manager on other tasks and initiatives.

Requirements:

• Passionate about product!
• 1-2 years of experience with a retailer, brand, or product development/sourcing company in sourcing, production, or product development role, preferably in textiles.
• Hungry, results-driven individual who wants to make an impact from day one.
• Extremely detail oriented and organized with information, communication, and exceptional organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-directed and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including email writing etiquette.
• Excellent at problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. and use a stepstool or ladder.
• Able to commute to our office in Birmingham, Michigan.
