MHS Labs, a clinical laboratory located in Monroeville, PA, is seeking a full-time Processor II. The hours are Monday-Friday, 4 pm-12 am.
All hires are subject to background checks and random drug screenings.
COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIRED (Unless medical or religious documentation can be provided)
Job Summary: Processors Level 2 are responsible for both the quality control and processing of
Covid19 specimens and traditional specimens. Quality control duties include
promptly receiving specimens, accurately comparing specimen and requisition
information with great attention to detail and sorting specimens by facility.
Organizing the problems and the specimens and hand them off to the appropriate
personnel. Processing duties include processing specimens for MTs & MLTs and
entering patent demographics and test orders into the Laboratory Information system.

Responsibilities:

• Quality Control

• Receive specimens and unpack
  
• Record the time and date of arrival to the lab on the requisition
  
• Examination of Requisition for pertinent information
  
• Determine the compatibility of the testing ordered with the specimen received.
  
• Determine the quality and stability of the specimen by the information given and
  how the specimen presents.
  
• Compare the requisition to the specimen to verify the patent name and DOB.
  
• Label the specimens with the missing information
  
• Organize specimens by location
  
• Sort specimens suitable for processing, banded into groups of 12, and place in a
  basket labeled with the received date and AM/PM
  
• Maintain the stability of the specimens by working efficiently and accurately, keeping
  the specimens in the refrigerator and passing the specimens to the appropriate
  personnel.

• Verify patent\xe2\x80\x99s insurance demographics, and then prepare, process, label and store patent specimens and samples according to departmental procedures using standard techniques and equipment, for subsequent analysis by Clinical Laboratory staff and or outside reference laboratories.

• Scan (digital archive/flee requisitions and orders.
• Answer patient/account telephone calls pertaining to laboratory services.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
