As the Print Operator, you will serve State Print Services by operating high speed digital and inkjet printing equipment for the purpose of producing hardcopy printed material. This essential work includes:

Prepare, print, and put the finishing touches to a print job using various manual, mechanical and automated operations that collate, fold, and cut paper to the correct size, and bind documents together in a variety of ways. Print jobs include finished articles such as books, booklets, brochures, catalogues, or mailers.

Ensure that all complex and critical products are printed and packaged according to required specifications.

Position may be re-assigned to work on one of three shifts (days, swing, or graveyard).

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

At least one year of experience in the operation and maintenance of high-speed printers and/or bindery related equipment typically found in a print plant.

Desired Attributes:

Takes pride in producing quality work that ensures accuracy and completeness in required documents.

Has the experience and ability to independently prioritize and organize work efficiently to meet deadlines.

Experience with the operation of high-speed production printers.

Experience operating bindery equipment typically found in a printing plant, such as high speed paper production folders, hydraulic cutters, and perfect binding.

Experience assisting in the operation of mail-processing equipment such as folders, mail metering equipment, inserters, and labelers.

Preference:

Preference may be given to those with employment experience (temporary, permanent, or limited duration status) under DAS Publishing & Distribution.
