Job Description

As a Software Architect specializing in Edge Computing and IoT on a PaaS, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge software solutions that power our digital transformation initiatives. We are seeking an experienced professional with over 10 years of experience in software architecture, particularly in cloud-based architecture for PaaS and IaaS, and expertise in Edge computing and IoT on the device side.

Responsibilities:

  • Edge Computing and IoT Architecture: Design and implement robust and scalable software architectures for Edge computing and IoT solutions on a PaaS. Leverage your expertise in Edge computing and IoT on the device side to develop architectures that enable efficient data processing, real-time analytics, and decentralized decision-making.
  • Solution Design and Implementation: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into comprehensive software designs. Apply your knowledge of cloud-based architecture for PaaS and IaaS to design solutions that meet the unique challenges of Edge computing and IoT on the device side.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring the implementation of best practices and architectural standards. Mentor team members on Edge computing and IoT concepts, device integration, and industry trends.
  • Integration and Interoperability: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability between Edge computing systems, IoT devices, and cloud-based platforms. Design interfaces and protocols that enable secure and efficient data exchange.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize software architectures for performance, scalability, and low latency in Edge computing environments. Identify and implement strategies to minimize network bandwidth usage and improve data processing efficiency on edge devices.
  • Security and Privacy: Implement robust security and privacy measures to protect sensitive data in Edge computing and IoT environments. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of software solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in Edge computing, IoT, and cloud-based architectures. Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our software development processes.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software architecture, with a focus on Edge architecture.
  • Strong expertise in Edge computing and IoT on the device side, including device integration, sensor data processing, and decentralized decision-making.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud-based architecture principles, particularly for PaaS and IaaS platforms.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering software architectures for Edge computing and IoT solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols for Edge computing and IoT, such as MQTT, LoRA.
  • Strong knowledge of security and privacy considerations in Edge computing and IoT environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
