As a Principal Engineer - UM Lead, you will lead a team of UMs and DERs in supporting the certification strategy for multiple programs through the coordination of UM/DER support. You will directly support show compliance activities, interface with customers and employees on technical matters, and advise leadership on organizational growth requirements. You\'ll also review, manage, and proactively challenge status of project programs and budgets, manage UM/DER workload, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of programs including issue identification, resolution and contingency planning.

Responsibilities:

Support program show compliance activities through the mentoring of discipline engineers in the certification process

Provide find compliance support through active engagement as a UM/DER - Lead a team of UMs/DERs through technical mentorship, workload management, and career growth guidance

Develop and manage a growth plan for continued internal UM/DER development

Must-haves:

Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience

Existing UM and/or DER with recent experience serving as a UM as part of an Organization Delegation Authorization (ODA)

Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices

Thorough understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams -Expert knowledge of engineering principles and practice

Comprehensive understanding of requirements management, system design, integration

Preferred:

Typically 6-8 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience

Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers

Previous management experience in assigning, directing, and evaluating work and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence and growth

Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management

Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedure

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $138,634.92 - $190,623.01

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
