The Opportunity

Delaware North Global Headquarters is hiring a Principal Data Scientist to join our IT enterprise architecture team located in Buffalo, New York or in Atlanta, GA.

In this newly created role, the Principal Data Scientist will will be responsible for applying business process knowledge and predictive modeling to develop, recommend, and communicate timely, accurate, meaningful, and impactive insights to support business decisions and objectives.

This includes responsibility for complex statistical analysis, preparation, predictive, prescriptive, and implementation strategy. The ideal candidate has statistical analytics, data engineering and an advanced data science set of skills.

Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Salary: $108100 - $148700 / year

Responsibilities
  • Use technical and domain expertise to translate data into meaningful insights for teams and leaders to confidently take action on.
  • Ask probing questions to translate business needs in order to design and build reporting solutions such as metric management, statistical modeling, and enterprise performance management.
  • Apply data aggregation, descriptive analysis, and data presentation techniques and tools to communicate complex findings and recommendations to influence the actions of others.
  • Drive analysis activity using full scope of Advanced Analytics capabilities such as Segmentation, Regression, Optimization, ANOVA, Market Basket, and other Statistical Techniques.
  • Interpret results of analyses, identified trends and issues, and develop alternatives to enhance key objectives.
Collaborate across multiple teams to research, analyze, and configure complex data sources according to business needs and objectives. * Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
6 or more years of experience working in a quantitative/data analyst role with hospitality, food and beverage, and retail experience is preferred.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience working with large data repositories and relational databases using SQL.

Experience with data query, visualization, dashboard and scorecard tools including Tableau. * Strong knowledge in the deployment and creation of analytical solutions using Alteryx, SAS, SPSS, R, Python, or other tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed (anticipated 0 to 10% of the time).
