Job Description

Design Ready Fabrications is seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Operator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining press brake machinery, with a proven track record of safety and efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brakes to produce high-quality components according to specifications.

This is a 2nd shift position with a 4x10 schedule. M-Th.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

+ Operate and maintain press brake machines, specifically Amada Press Brakes.
+ Set up machines, load materials, and program controls according to specifications and production requirements.
+ Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure high-quality output.
+ Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
+ Coordinate with maintenance teams and machine leads for more complex repairs or scheduled maintenance.

Quality Control:

+ Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
+ Identify and report any product inconsistencies or machine malfunctions to the supervisor.
+ Maintain accurate records of machine operation, including any issues encountered and corrective actions taken.

Safety & Compliance:

+ Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
+ Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to company safety policies.
+ Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately to management and/or Human Resources.

Collaboration:

+ Work closely with other operators, supervisors, quality control personnel to meet production goals.
+ Assist with training new operators and share best practices with team members.
+ Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operation of the production line.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or a related field preferred. 2+ years experience operating press brake machinery, with a strong preference for experience with Amada Press Brakes. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Proficient in operating and programming press brake controls. Excellent communication and listening skills, with attention to clarity, quality, and precision. Proactive, quick-thinking, problem-solving approach to work. Ability to use a large variety of hand and power tools with proper safety techniques. Ability to lift up to 50-85 pounds occasionally (with assistance). Ability to sit, stand, or walk for up to 10 hours throughout the shift.
