In addition to lead teaching responsibilities, the Preschool Specialist will serve as a person in charge of helping the Curriculum Specialist develop and maintain a quality preschool program. The quality of the program will be monitored through assessment and observations of lead teachers, assistant teachers, and aides within the classrooms.
Carry out responsibilities of the lead teacher, as described in the Preschool lead teacher job description
Provide assistance, support, and role modeling to the members of the Preschool faculty in curriculum, observations, and developmental issues
Ensure compliance with all curriculum related to licensing and Quality requirements that pertain to the Preschool programs
Review lesson plans on a weekly basis, make recommendations for needed changes and follow through on implantation of lesson plans
Establish a mentor/ peer role with all faculty of the programs
Ensure parent-teacher conferences are conducted according to the yearly schedule and assist teaching in both preparation and conduction of conferences, as needed
Act as person in charge in the absence of Director of Center Operations/ Manager of Center Operations and Curriculum Specialist
Perform opening and closing procedures, as needed
Any other duties assignment by program administration
Basic Qualifications
Associate's Degree in E.C.E.
Bachelor's Degree in other field + Child Development Associate (CDA)
Experience teaching in an early learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in E.C.E. or related field
Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and the 40 Developmental Assets
Knowledge of State licensing requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 25-35 lbs
