What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced, detail-driven

Preconstruction Estimator

with strong communication skills, excellent organizational habits, and a hands-on, team-oriented mindset. You must currently reside in South Florida and be able to work onsite at our office in Hollywood, Florida.

This position reports directly to the Preconstruction Manager.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Effectively communicate and maintain relationships with trade partners and suppliers via phone calls, in-person, or electronically Prepare and distribute Invitations to Bid Maintain, prepare, and organize documents, including but not limited to: Bid list, RFI Logs, Drawings, Proposals, etc. Create trade specific scope sheets and level trade proposals for scope, pricing and compliance with bid documents Review construction documents to determine project requirements and scope Prepare quantity take-offs for labor, material and equipment Participate in site visits to verify existing conditions and site logistics Participate in bid review and turnover meetings Assist with preparation of conceptual budgets as requested based on historical data Assist in preparing budgets and value-engineering options to clients and designers throughout the design process Assist in compiling historical data and current market rates database Develop and maintain relationships with trade partners and suppliers Assist in trade and supplier prequalification process Assist with preparing detailed Qualifications and Assumptions exhibit with each Construction Estimate Proposal Support operations with Subcontractor buyout, Contract negotiation and Change Order administration as time allows Stay current with estimating software and best practices in the industry, continual improvement mindset Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, climb, crouch or walk for extended periods of time Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

2+ years' experience in estimating, ideally within luxury residential construction in both ground up single family homes and condominium interior renovations and build-outs Bachelor's degree (or equivalent industry experience) Fluency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel and Word), Procore, Bluebeam, and construction software Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Working knowledge of South Florida subcontractor and vendor markets Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Valid driver's license and ability to be physically present both in-office and on-site
