Center Art LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Space Needle LLC is partnering with Chihuly Studio to operate Chihuly Garden and Glass on the grounds of Seattle Center next to the Space Needle. GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: The Public Relations Manager supports Center Art\xe2\x80\x99s mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, accountability, collaboration, teamwork, innovation, creativity, respect, commitment, enthusiasm, leadership, and ownership. The Public Relations Manager serves as the media contact for Chihuly Garden and Glass and the primary contact for internal and external communications for the organization. S/he develops and executes public relations and social media strategies to increase the awareness and visibility of Chihuly Garden and Glass, enhance the reputation of the Exhibit, and tell stories that support the brand. S/he is responsible for delivering programs that support the mission to connect to the vibrancy of art in the community. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and implement PR initiatives to keep Chihuly Garden and Glass top of mind with visitors and locals.
  • Respond and evaluate press inquiries, media requests, and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Work with brand to manage the voice of Chihuly Garden and Glass across internal and external communication.
  • Develop content and write copy for press materials, social media, website, internal and external communications, stakeholders, and general marketing needs, ensuring they reach the intended audiences \xe2\x80\x93 local, regional, national and international.
  • Host media tours, familiarity trips, and other press and influencer groups onsite at Chihuly Garden and Glass.
  • Coordinate and execute film shoots and camera crews onsite as needed.
  • Help develop social media strategy and storytelling
  • Seek opportunities for local, regional, national, and international publicity by pitching stories and distributing materials to specific media, niche audiences, industry publications, etc.
  • Develop talking points, provide media training and prep spokespeople as needed. Additionally, serve as the spokesperson as needed.
  • Create and execute on-site press and community events, and collaborate with internal departments and external partners on other event needs as needed.
  • Work closely with on-site staff on publicity events.
  • Project management with internal departments and outside vendors, like photography, videography, and community partners, to managetimelines and deliverables as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with internal departments and provide PR support for programs, products and initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key partners, external influencers and community groups (ie, Chihuly Studio, Seattle Center, Visit Seattle, Port of Seattle, etc).
  • Maintain and update crisis communications plans.
  • Monitor and track both social sentiment and media coverage.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • 5-7 years public relations experience in agency, art, hospitality, or attraction/entertainment industry with a proven track record.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, , or related field.
  • 4-6 years Marketing/PR experience in the arts and/or travel & tourism strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to think outside of the box, react and pivot quickly, with ability to be flexible and nimble.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Professional, courteous, and polite manner.
  • Leadership and team performance skills.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Products).
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and off-site as required.
  • Able to lift and carry 35 pounds.
Full Time, Salaried Position Salary Range: $75,000 - $83,000 DOE + Bonus up to 10% Benefits include:

  • Deferred compensation into 401(k) account at company Shareholder discretion. Eligible to begin participating after one year of service with an annual plan entry date of October 1 st.
  • Vacation pay (3 weeks accrual after one year of service)
