Patron Technology is looking for a part-time contractor to act as PR Coordinator, helping the SVP, Marketing & Communications to manage press relations, including the maintenance of a pipeline of items for publication, source initial content for copywriting and creative development, manage press release processes, help develop and manage relationships with industry and media entities, assist in developing public speaking and conference participation, and coordinate with other internal departments on overall communications efforts.

Role will require variable hours, estimated 15-25 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain pipeline of press-worthy topics to have continuous stream of media announcements to raise industry awareness of our company presence and strategy
  • Create and manage all press releases; develop release plans, provide content outlines, assign dates, coordinate with other teams, and ensure timely delivery
  • Help develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets/partners to facilitate the placement of relevant content in furtherance of our image and celebrating our successes
  • Manage an annual plan for public speaking and panel participation at conferences etc. and assist in preparation for these events
  • Ensure coordination of external with internal comms, and assist staff in best practices for reposting and sharing releases and announcements
KEY TASKS:
  • Develop tracking process to log and prioritize/sequence topics for asset development (copywriting, graphic/media) for press, news, and other announcements
  • Determine categories/classes of announcements - i.e. Press Release worthy, blog/social updates, thought leadership/articles, interviews
  • Seek out information on topics from internal and external sources and provide draft content outlines to the Marketing team for asset development
  • Work with Creative and Content Creation teams to develop templates using brand guidelines for standardized content development
  • Project manage company announcements, track content development, release sequencing and task assignments across the company
  • Sync with Marketing team to create a steady \xe2\x80\x9cdrip\xe2\x80\x9d of items in social posts and elsewhere creating constant presence around our quarterly-defined themes
  • Sync with Talent management group to coordinate internal comms around key events and announcements
  • Ensure internal announcements precede or follow external ones in a timely manner for the specific content
  • Provide guidance and assistance on best ways for staff to share different kinds of announcements on social and other means
  • Define process for regular cadence for review and prioritization of items with Leadership Steering Committee (Sales, Marketing and Executive personnel)
  • Collaborate with other departments to surface content ideas and topics
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing team with preparations for tradeshow and conference participation - including speaking topic opportunities and outlines, event logistics and pre- and post- event communications
  • Monitor, analyze and report on coverage and success of press efforts providing updates monthly to leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 4-6+ years of experience in Press Relations and Communications/Marketing
  • Demonstrable experience with building effective media campaigns
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely for defined target audiences
  • Self-starter able to troubleshoot and find creative solutions on the fly
  • Strong communication both written and verbal
  • Comfortable with constant collaboration
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Skilled at staying informed and at the forefront of new web technology developments
  • Familiarity with the Live Event industry
  • Technology-focused copywriting experience
  • Some understanding of digital marketing including SEM, SEO, and social advertising
