UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Clinical Services is currently sponsoring the buildout of a new system called the Policy Integration Management System (PIMS) which will make the maintenance and utilization of prior authorization information, as well as the policies and guidelines it is based upon, much more efficient for the organization.

We are searching for an expert Power BI Report Developer to join our team, who will work with both the operational team and the customers we support, to build custom Power BI reports and dashboards that leverage the information contained within the system, according to the needs of our user community. This person will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving Power BI analytic reports and dashboards to meet the needs of our users. These components will help craft the story around the maintenance, performance, prediction, and outcomes of clinical prior authorizations as well as the policies and guidelines they are based upon.

To succeed, the person filling this position will need to adopt a sense of ownership over the reporting components of PIMS and ensure those reports and dashboards are timely, accurate, valid, and meet / exceed the needs of our users. This individual will need to have a natural desire to adopt an end-user perspective surrounding the way the information contained within our system can best be presented. The ideal candidate will have a knack for thinking \xe2\x80\x9cBig Picture\xe2\x80\x9d as well as enjoy digging into the details.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, deliver, and maintain comprehensive data analysis, reports, and dashboards which will be used by thousands of people
  • Operational stability of the reporting environment, ensuring objects are properly monitored and audited to provide data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery
  • Work with the development, operations, and customer teams to mockup new reports and dashboards and determine the most elegant way to present the information customers need
  • Collaborate with team members (users, operations analysts, software engineers, database engineers, and managers) with diverse and varied technical skills sets to design and develop customer specific reporting components
  • Create, enhance, and maintain business analytics models (relational and DMR), including packages designed for report development
  • Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results compared with the database at each step of the development process
  • Present complex data to non-technical end-users in a clear and concise manner through reporting visualization tools to help them make sense of the data

  • 2+ years of experience with Business Intelligence tools
  • 2+ years of experience working with relational databases
  • 2+ years of experience with Power BI
  • 2+ years of relational database analysis experience, ability to read both conceptual and physical models
  • 2+ years of experience writing SQL used in report customizations
  • Experience implementing application security layer models, developing tabular and multidimensional models, performance improvement of reports, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of data management, business intelligence, and analytics concepts
  • Proven solid quantitative and qualitative analytical skills for translating data into informative visuals and reports

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics
  • Experience with advanced data modeling techniques; predictive modeling, link analysis, graphical analysis, supervised and unsupervised models
  • Knowledge of healthcare administrative data (prior authorizations, medical claims, enrollment, etc.)
  • Proven excellent communication both written and verbal

  • Intuitive, self-starter with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Inherently curious and interested in growing their own knowledge set, self-motivated and quick to learn and apply knowledge
  • Ability to champion and manage new initiatives to completion to improve and streamline operations processes and maximize systems efficiency

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
