Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world\'s largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Port Operator III. Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for a career oriented individual to fill this role.

Schedule will be 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off-site

Reporting to the Port Operations Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Proficient operation of TUB, VAC truck, front end loader (medium and small), skid steer and fork lift. Safety demonstrate basic operation of dozer (gravel, snow, concentrate). Proficient in ship loader operations including Method 22 forms
• Maintain fugitive dust (calcium spreader & water truck).
• Develop understanding of concentrate management in CSB\'s and load concentrates
• Develop understanding of the Port Operation of the site layout and conveyors systems for dumping trucks and concentrate load out
• Required to complete basic paperwork such as timesheets and walk around inspection forms which include information such as location, material hauled, load count, hours worked and condition of equipment
• Required to comply with Red Dog Operations Environmental, Health, Safety and Community Policy which includes fugitive dust mitigation
• Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and have the willingness to learn and advance through the Port Operators progression
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards
• Communicate effectively with other operators, colleagues and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of two (2) years\' prior mining or similar experience which includes heavy equipment operating experience (Skid steer, VAC truck, Loader, Forklift) is required
• Driver\'s license preferred
• Strong team cooperation is required
• Perform all tasks with limited direction
• Must work safely and follow instructions
• Must be willing to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions
• Shift work required (Day Shift, Night Shift)
• A desire to advance to higher levels in the competency development system by training and becoming proficient at specific tasks and duties in the Port Operations department
