Aha Connections is seeking a candidate who enjoys working with young children and has a passion for fostering social and emotional growth through play. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, compassionate, loves to play and is receptive to guidance. This candidate will play a crucial role in planning and facilitating group sessions. They will create a supportive environment where children can build friendships, enhance communication skills, and grow in confidence. This role is essential in planning and facilitating group sessions that encourage meaningful connections and development. This is a part-time start up position with growth potential. (2 hours to start on Saturdays 11:00 - 2:00pm)
Duties
Facilitate Group Sessions:
Design and conduct play-based group activities that promote peer interaction, social development, and cooperative play.
Use creative strategies to adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of group participants.
Track Development and Provide Support:
Observe and document each child's progress, adjusting approaches to address individual developmental goals.
Collaborate with families to set realistic and meaningful objectives for their children's growth.
Engage Families:
Maintain open communication with families, sharing updates, resources, and insights into their child's progress.
Collaborate with Team Members:
Work alongside other staff members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to each child's development.
Contribute to team meetings, sharing observations and ideas to enhance group outcomes.
Skills
Strong knowledge of child development and an understanding of neurodivergent needs.
Experience working with Autistic children.
Experience facilitating groups.
Excellent communication skills to connect with children, families, and team members.
Creativity to design engaging, developmentally appropriate play activities.
Patience and adaptability to work with children at various developmental levels.
Empathy and a nurturing approach to support children's emotional growth.
Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
Bachelor's degree (required).
Certification or experience with play-based approaches (preferred) or willingness to undergo training. Training will be provided by an Advanced DIRFloortime Provider
Experience:
At least 1-2 years of experience working with neurodivergent children or in early childhood education.
Group or classroom experience
Early Intervention experience a plus
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $65.00 - $100.00 per day
