Plate Saw Operator

2nd Shift (1:30PM-10:00PM)

Job Summary

Yarde Metals is looking for plate saw operator to join our Operations Team. A plate saw operator sets up and operates plate saws and safely processes material according to customer specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities

SAFETY FIRST!

Organize work orders to efficiently process material. Transport material throughout the warehouse using forklifts and cranes. Set up machines by selecting appropriate nozzles, setting speeds, and feeds. Measure material using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Confirm source material processed is from the correct location and is the correct material. Conduct first piece and in-process inspections according to quality sampling plan. Stack and sort finished products for packaging. Pack and protect material for shipment. Clean saws according to maintenance procedures. Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE

position: requires operating heavy machinery.

High School graduate or equivalent preferred. History of working

safely

and productively. Warehouse, material handling, forklift, and experience required. Previous machining experience or experience directly related to the duties of the position strong preferred. A high level of attention to detail is required. Able to read and understand English to follow work instructions. Basic math skills required to convert decimals and fractions and to accurately use and read tape measures and calipers. Dependable, punctual, and works well with others. Able to pass background check, drug screen, physical, meet physical requirements of the position. Willingness to work required overtime.
